Béatrice-Nicole
NYOM KOUADIO
THANK YOU FOR THE STRENGTH
Béatrice-Nicole NYOM KOUADIO is a passionate photographer, media producer, and image reporter (JRI) based in Abidjan, the capital of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. She is also a correspondent for several local and international media outlets, and one of the pioneers of web journalism in Africa.
Her work focuses primarily on sports photography, but she also excels in other areas of the craft. With particular expertise in covering sporting events, she has photographed major football matches such as the Africa Cup of Nations and the Ivorian Football Championship, capturing key moments of action with remarkable precision and creativity. Her experience includes six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) and three FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014, 2018), as well as countless trips with the Elephants football team across Africa and Europe.
As an educator in photography, Béatrice-Nicole organizes training workshops for young people eager to learn the profession, offering them a unique opportunity to discover the magic of photography and master the techniques that make it so captivating.
Beyond her work as a photographer, she is a committed advocate for women’s rights and the recognition of their achievements. She has organized exhibitions to promote photography — with a special focus on women. Recently, she brought women athletes out of their usual settings, showcased them in photo frames, transformed them into works of art, and exhibited them at INSAAC. She has also paid tribute, through her images, to her father and to pioneering women of Cameroon.
She is the founder of African Network Sound and Images (ANSI), the first African network for sound and image professionals.
For Béatrice-Nicole, photography is an art that has been passed down to us, and it is our duty to pass it on to future generations, with every possible improvement. And yet, this Ivorian-Cameroonian artist could have become a doctor or a police commissioner. But the “virus” of photography “infected” her — and she willingly succumbed to it.
Through her dedication, passion, and creativity, Béatrice-Nicole has earned significant recognition in the world of photography and journalism in Côte d’Ivoire and beyond. Today, she stands as an inspiration to many young photographers.
